One of the most frequently asked questions we at The Cambridge Academy receive is "Will I be able to earn a high school diploma?" The answer is a resounding YES! Those who meet The Cambridge Academy's online high school graduation requirements will earn an official online high school diploma.
Parents must send The Cambridge Academy an official transcript from any previous classes taken at a public or private school. If the student is a current home school high school student, the parents must send us a prepared portfolio detailing the student's academic history including grades, courses, and attendance. The portfolio must include samples of the students work such as tests, assignments, essays, and lessons.
In order to acquire a home school high school diploma from The Cambridge Academy, students must complete 19 high school credits. However, if students are planning to attend college, we recommend they take at least 23 credits. In order to obtain a credit, students must pass the online high school class and complete 75% of the coursework. Students are not required to take a foreign language in order to graduate, although many colleges look favorably upon students who have at least two foreign language credits. Students must engage in a home school high school organized sport, class, or regular physical fitness regimen for at least 40 hours throughout the year to be given credit for an organized sport. This must be accompanied by a letter from a coach or instructor validating their hours.
Here are the requirements that students must meet in order to receive their high school diploma.
